Reopening

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back very soon!

Following our temporary closure due to the COVID-19 lockdown in March, we are pleased to finally confirm that the Halls of Ivy Romford and Chelmsford salons will be reopening around Saturday 4th July 2020. This date will vary slightly depending on certain courses etc.

COVID-19 Compliance

We will of course be fully COVID-19 compliant when we reopen, which will mean that certain hygiene and social distancing measures will need to be followed when you visit our salons. Please see the full COVID-19 safety information details below for clients, students, and staff.

Clients
The measures we are taking to ensure safety for clients at Halls of Ivy:

Clients will be required to wear a face mask at all times

• Clients will be required to make and pay for their appointment in advance

• Client appointments will be limited to 2 services, i.e Cut & Blowdry or 1 service where the time is expected to exceed 2 hours i.e Colouring

• Clients must arrive on time for their appointment and queue outside centres at a 1 metre plus distance apart

• Clients must attend appointments alone, unless pre-agreed with the centres

• Late arrival to appointments will not be permitted

• You may be asked to use a separate entry or exit point for some appointments

• Your temperature will be checked on arrival and you will be asked to wash your hands

• Please do not attend Halls of Ivy if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid 19 or during a period of isolation

• Cleaning and hand sanitisation stations have been set up at entry and exit points of centres

• You will he asked to sign in and out of each centre to assist with track and trace

• Screens have been placed in between work stations and at reception areas

• Plastic visors will be worn by the technician carrying out the treatment.

• Clients and visitors will be offered face coverings for use while in Halls of Ivy

• Disposable aprons, gowns and gloves and as many single use items are to be used when carrying out treatments

• We are limiting shared use of equipment

• No food or drink is to be consumed during in the centre. You will he offered water and a disposable cup

• Seperate toilet facilities will be advised on the day

• Our learners and staff will be taking extra time and care to ensure rigorous cleaning or work areas, tools and equipment in between clients

Students
The measures we are taking to ensure safety for students at Halls of Ivy:

• We have reduced our class sizes and the number of people in centres at any one time. Bubbles will be created to limit interaction between classes

• Learners will not be asked to bring models to short courses and will be paired with another learner to practise treatments

• You will be asked to wear clean clothes each day and we advise changing out of your clothing when you leave Halls of Ivy

• You may be asked to use a separate entry or exit point for some classes

• Your temperature will be checked on arrival and you will be asked to wash your hands

• Please do not attend Halls of Ivy if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid 19 or during a period of isolation

• Cleaning and hand sanitisation stations have been set up at entry and exit points of centres

• You will be asked to sign in and out of each centre to assist with track and trace

• Screens have been placed in between work stations and at reception areas

• You will be required to wear a plastic visor when carrying out any treatment. Learners attending NVQ/VRQ programmers will be provided with their own visor which will be cleaned and kept in a sealed bag at the center. Learners attending short courses will be required to purchase a visor at a cost of £2 prior to training.

• Face coverings must be worn in classes when visors are not required. Learners will be provided with a disposable face covering.

• We are limiting shared use of equipment

• Disposable aprons, gowns and gloves and as many single use items are to be used when carrying out treatments

• You will be required to sanitize/sterilize your work area and any tools and equipment in between clients and regularly throughout the day

• Classes will be allocated separate toilet facilities

Staff
The measures we are taking to ensure safety for staff at Halls of Ivy:

• We have reduced our class sizes and the number of people in centres at any one time.

• We have encouraged remote working from home

• We have reduced contact between staff members by creating staff bubbles

• We have provided Covid 19 training

• We have included Infection Prevention and Control in all our meeting agendas

• We have asked our staff to wear clean clothing each day and advised staff to change out of work clothes when leaving Halls of Ivy

• Staff will not attend Halls of Ivy if displaying any symptoms of Covid 19 or during a period of isolation

• Cleaning and hand sanitisation stations for use throughout centres

• We have implemented flexible shift patterns to reduce the need for public transport during rush hours

• Face coverings are available for use

• We have repositioned work stations to support social distancing

• Stationery has been issued per desk to limit shared use

• Sanitisation of shared equipment after individual use

• Staff only kitchen area

• Cleaning rota for high traffic areas

• Records of contact in centres to assist track and track

• Clear signage throughout centres
