The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is a practical-based qualification intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment, and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (i.e. workshop, classroom or other training environment).
Who's it for?
This qualification is designed to equip a wide range of teachers, trainers and facilitators with the underpinning skills and knowledge to enable them to assess effectively.
This qualification provides an introduction to assessing and is suitable for those who are new to or wish to start assessing in their own field of experience.
This qualification provides progression opportunities into employment as an assessor of occupational competence in the workplace and vocationally related achievement in non-work environments.
Throughout the course you will compile a portfolio of evidence. You will be assessed by a combination of assignments and practical observation assessments of your work.
One of the main benefits of completing this award is that it provides a 'threshold license to practice', a requirement within current legislation for all those teaching/training within the Learning and Skills Sector.
This qualification will enable you to work in a teaching function and progress on to a broader teaching qualification.
Part home-study - You can begin this course at any time. You will be allocated 6 months to complete your course.
In order to complete this course you would require access to students to assess, you can opt to attend our Academy to gain classroom experience assessing. Alternatively if you have access to learners in Essex or London you can book one of our Assessors to visit you.
Once you have completed this course you will be prepared to assess vocational qualifications in your subject specialism. This can also lead onto Level 3 & 4 Education and Training qualifications.
